Accolades
We have been fortunate enough to continue to receive a few awards in the last year. In fact, we have received over 40 medals and trophies in 2008 alone. We keep on striving to make the best and be judged with our peers. In this very confused wine market place we live in, we feel it's the only way to assist you in discerning one maker from the next.
In particular, there have been a couple of great wine stories worth sharing.
Our Botrytis Supreme just keeps on kicking goals. It has now been awarded trophies at the Royal Adelaide, Cairns and Cowra wine shows as well as top of class at the Australian Boutique Wine awards! This wine will be remembered as one of the greats and it will continue to age beautifully for many a year.
Haven’t tried it?...be quick it is on allocation.
Our 2006 Bluegrass Cabernet has recently been awarded 5 stars in Winestate magazine as well as gold at the recent New Zealand International Wine show. A great result for our best known wine. Very limited and yet to be released...watch out for it in your 2009 Summer pack.
New Wines
This is an exciting time of year where we see most of this year’s latest releases.
The most recent are our 2005 Bluegrass Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2005 Bluegrass Cabernet Merlot, both very noteworthy additions to our Bluegrass range. If you like the Bluegrass style then we suggest you have a look at these latest releases as they are up there with our best vintages and obvious future medal winners.
Our Reserve range has seen the release of the 2005 Single Vineyard Shiraz and the 2005 Reserve Merlot. The Shiraz optimises Hunter Shiraz with those great earthy aromas and the Merlot is once again estate grown and living up to the reputation forged by it’s earlier counter parts. Both these wines have been made in very limited quantities and are befitting our reserve classification.
The members exclusive Equus Collection, has also grown with the addition of some great new and unique wines. The latest of which are the 2006 Series 8 Hunter Valley Cabernet and the Series 9 Semillon/Sauvignon Blanc blend from the Hunter and Margaret River. “Hunter Valley Cabernet”...did you say? This wine is a serious surprise. It has already picked up two trophies and is an eye opener...or should we say palate opener? The Series 9 is the perfect companion this summer, fresh, clean and bright in style. Both these wines are not to be missed.
We are proud to show you and your friends any of these wines next time you drop into the Hunter Valley. So don’t leave it too long. We aren’t going anywhere but our wines will!
